Game flow
Please go to the assigned pool by the specified time, and let the judge know of your presence.
1. Choosing a play side
A player who is listed on the above in the tournament chart will take the 1P side, while the one who is listed below will take the 2P side. (This may not be the case when both players agree otherwise.)

2. Choosing Fighters
Fighters by either player for first match will be decided before stage. If fighter pick doesn’t reach agreement, blind pick will be applied.
・ Blind Pick: Both players to tell judge which fighter you will choose. When choosing Mii Fighter, you must tell moveset number.

3.Check of the operation system
If you want to check your device’s operation system, please ask the judge. A button check or lever check without making a request may be regarded as the game having started.

4. Stage select and Fight
First stage is decided by <Rock Paper Scissors> best of 1.
Winner may choose to strike a stage first.
Stage strike will be done by P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
Stages for following matches decided by winner striking two stages from all stages and then loser choosing.
Winning player is not locked into the same fighter for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects fighter.
You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list.

Starter stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Pokémon Stadium 2, Smashville, Town And City
Counter-pick stages: Kalos Pokémon League, Lylat Cruise

Counter-pick : Winner bans 2
・The game will be over when either of the players wins more games than the prescribed number.
・After the game, both players should report/confirm the result of the game to the judge. If you are scheduled to play the next game, please try to stay in the pool. If you want to leave the pool, please inform the time of your return to the judge.
Other rules
・If you are late for a meeting time, you will lose the game by default.
・It is possible to participate from the losers side if you lost a game by default on the winners side..

・ Controller settings can be changed freely during a game.
Allowed Controllers : Nintendo GameCube Controller, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Nintendo Switch Joy-Con, SMASH BOX, Hori Classic Controller, PDP Faceoff, PDP Afterglow, PDP Rock Candy, PDP Nintendo Switch Wired Controller PLUS, PowerA Wired(Button functions are not allowed).
※Nintendo Switch Pro Controller users must sync their controller to the dedicated Nintendo Switch while they are not in match. Not synchronizing your controller can result in disqualification.

※ Nintendo Switch Pro Controller users must bring their USB wire if you need to use wired mode.
※ If disconnection occurred on any controller, call staff immediately. Staff determines either which player loses a game or a rematch.
・There will be no rematch when a game was run on wrong ruleset.
・There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles.
・ In case of any unintentional error, call staff immediately. Staff determines either rematch or reproducing the same situation.
・The next set must start within 60 seconds after the previous one finished..

If game goes to time, winner will be decided by order of stock, percentage. Sudden Death with tied percentage/stock will result in a 1 stock/2 minutes playoff match. Sudden Death with both players losing last stock at the same time, Sudden Death will be played.

Note: These rules are made so that the tournament can proceed fairly and smoothly. However, in the event of an unpredictable incident, special handling may be necessary. For that reason, these tournament rules may change without prior notice.
For Entry

・EVO Japan 2020 Executive Committee utilizes personal information and other information including player name, age, and usage rights to image of a person for the purpose of operation and publicity of the tournament.
・Images or videos of participants may be shot by EVO Japan 2020 Executive Committee and various media, and may appear on the website, publicity or print materials and broadcast during and after the tournament. By registering, participants agree to this. Agree and participate Disagree

・Points to Note
Players for the tournaments must be over 12 years of age on the tournament day, and players under 18 years of age require consent from a parent or guardian. Players for “SAMURAI SHODOWN” or “SOULCALIBUR VI”, however, must be over 17 years of age on the tournament day.
We will announce later the details of the reception on the tournament day for players and of each games’ tournament schedule.

・Please bring your own controller as a general rule
A small number of controllers will be made available. However, please note that the number is limited.

・Tournament flow
Before participating in the tournament, your ID will be verified on the day. After your entry is received, we will send you a registration completion e-mail. Together with your ID, please bring the print out of the e-mail or show us the display screen of the e-mail on your mobile.
Please also confirm the tournament regulations before registering. We will announce later the details of the reception on the tournament day for players.
